ImageWe are a reward based training school specializing in pet dogs. It is important to us that the dogs behaviour and temperament are paramount throughout any training, as it is pointless to have a dog that can sit, stay, lay and walk to heel, but can’t cope with new people or situations.

Both Angela and Chris are members of PAACT (the Professional Association of Applied Canine Trainers) the link supplied will take you to their website. Dogs in Training holds Kennel Club Listed Status which allows us to run Good Citizen award classes where you can attain Kennel Club recognized and registered certificates, recognizing you and your dogs achievements you can find out more about this scheme on the link below.

Principle Trainer and Behaviourist Angela Wilkins

Angela has had a passionate interest in animals since early childhood, this was fuelled by her Rescue GSD's Shultz and Karl. It was finding out how to help these very special boys that expanded her knowlege and gave her a thirst to learn more. The proud owner of her three dogs Baldrick (Flat Coated Retriever) Toffee (Yorkshire Terrier/Jack Russell cross) and baby of the family Muppet (Working Cocker) Angela is a firm believer in looking at individual need of your cannine companion, not every dog or person acts in the same way so training needs to be flexible to suit all needs Over a number of years working with other training schools, researching, and of course learning from all her clients dogsand owners has enabaled Angela to build her knowledge base and start her own business. She is available for 1 to one behavioural consultations and is always happy to talk through problems you are experiencing

Chris is a highly talented and experienced trainer always pushing to improve the service we give our clients, she is currently building on her experience by studying with other trainers who have specialist knowledge. As well as owning her 3 SBT's Chris also breeds on a limited scale having had recent successes with her bitch Macy (daughter of Ella) Ella (5) has her Bronze, Silver and Gold Kennel Club Good Citizen awards, and also enjoys agility, Rocky (4) has Bronze and Silver and Baby Macy (18 months) is just about to take her Silver. Staffie’s are clever and eager to please but this does not always make them easy to train, as they are easily distracted and excitable. But you would be hard pressed to find a happier or friendlier companion than your Staffie.

Rocky is Chris’s only male dog and looks as hard as nails which just proves that looks can be very deceptive as he is sensitive soul who likes nothing better than a big cuddle.

Trick Training (3 week course)
This is a course for people who want to do more with their dogs; we look at natural behaviour that each individual dog exhibits and turn these into tricks using clicker training.
