Welcome to the Dogs in Training website
Why is dog training is so important for you and your dog?
A dog that walks nicely on a loose lead is more likely to be walked further than a dog that is difficult and pulls. A dog that can cope with the distractions of everyday life will be included in more family activities and a dog that can come away from hazards because it is responsive to its owner and has good recall will know the joy of running and playing off lead! Training your dog gives you choices that having an unruly dog does not and gives your dog the chance to enjoy so much more out of life.
We at Dogs in Training believe that it just as important to be good at training people as it is to be good at training dogs, we are here to insure you and your family get the very best from your relationship with your canine companion using proven kind and highly successful methods. We run a variety of courses and are happy to advise you from the earliest stages of choosing the right dog for you, through the trials of puppy hood and canine adolescents, finding new ways to enrich your dogs life through agility, scent work, retrieving, trick training and other fun activities as well as the all important obedience and socialization needed to keep our dogs and families safe.
Some dogs do not get the best start in life and require quite a lot of help and care to give them a chance at a happy new life. We have supported many caring and determined people who have taken on rescue dogs with varying problems and histories turn scared or just plain boisterous dogs into valued well-behaved companions. You can teach an old dog new tricks and you can get them to give up some old habits if you have the knowledge and experience, that is what we are here to provide. We don’t want people to get false expectations but you don’t know how much you can achieve until you try.
Sometimes problems seem to come from nowhere and it is important to us that our clients can turn to us for help at any point in their dog’s life.
If you don’t know whether you need 1 to 1 training /behaviour work or classes don’t worry just give us a call so we can discuss your options without obligation.
